Just 20 kilometres away from the city centre of Doha, Qatar's largest and most modern Logistics Village became operational in the 1st quarter of 2011. Designed as an integrated and self-contained full-service "logistics department store" for its customers, the LVQ features everything that they may want as a logistics solution.

LVQ's strength lies in its good connections. It is located in a vicinity central to all other key transportation hubs and consumption centres, making it highly accessible and efficiently located. It is within the heart of the prime industrial belt and less than 20kms distance from Doha's main airport and seaport as well as regional oil and gas centres.

On a site of about 1 million square metres, a total of some 200,000 square metres of efficient covered logistics space is being built in two phases. In the first phase, which completed in the 1st Quarter of 2010, LVQ will features 3,000 square metres of staff accommodations, 83,000 square metres of warehouses of which 70,000 square metres is covered; truck maintenance workshop; parking; and 65,000 square metres of container haulage. The LVQ also feature Dedicated Warehouses, Multi-purpose Warehouses, Car Storage and PDI Area, Container Yard, Repair Depot and an Auction Yard. The first phase constitutes around 40% of the total project in which proportionate infrastructure including networks, road and soft landscaping has been completed. In Phase II, scheduled to complete in the 1st quarter of 2012, GWC plans is adding another 100,000 square metres of warehousing capacity, which will augment the existing capacities of the company countrywide to meet the needs of the country. 

These operational frontlines are supported by state-of-the-art IT infrastructure, international best practices and globally accepted quality management standards. Administrative buildings as well as residential and recreational facilities are also part of the master plan designed to serve the needs of all stakeholders in logistics, including service providers, clients and their personnel. The modular spaces at the LVQ can be tailored to meet each customer's complete logistics needs. The versatile logistics centre has enabled GWC to offer practical and flexible bespoke service packages.
